Pollachi and Valparai

Pollachi is a beautiful place with lots of Reservoirs/Dam, Windmills, landscapes, and waterfalls. There are many places near Pollachi including Valparai and Parambikkulam.

Here I have captured few places in Pollachi and Valparai. I have not got time to visit Parambikkulam. Might be in future I am sure I will plan this. In Pollachi these are the places you want to visit.

• Monkey Falls
• Aliyar Dam
• Thirumoorthy Waterfalls and Reservoir
• Sholaiyar / Upper Neerar Dam / Lower Neerar Dam
• Parambikulam Reserved forest and the Giant old Teak tree. 

Though I have not visited all the places listed above, I have captured Monkey Falls, Thirumoorthy Falls with photos. And if you refer to my post on "Topslip" you can see the view of Aliyar reservoir from the tophill which is so beautiful.

I have also captured few places in Valparai as well with the photos. Though these places are not so interesting, the Tea estates as you drive is so beautiful. The valley view from Nallamudi Pooncholai is also beautiful. You can see deforestation in the forest below from this viewpoint. In the name of Tea plantation greedy people cut down trees and disturb the wildlife. 

On Thirumoorthy Falls

When you visit Thirumoorthy Falls, nearby you see the reservoir first which is very beautiful. Dont get down to the water as it is dangerous and not advisable. And next you see a temple surrounded by the water which is coming down from the falls which is above. You need to walk a little for the falls from the temple. The water is so chill. Enjoy but be careful and hold onto the steel bars for balancing. 

On Koolangal Aaru (Pebble River) in Valparai

This place is simply hyped. See the photos below. But on the way you can enjoy the Tea plantations and the greenery if you like. Otherwise you can decide for yourself on visiting. 

On Nallamudi Pooncholai

The parking area is very small. You need to park on the side of the road and walk around 500 mtrs through the tea plantation. The valley view from here is fantastic and apart from the view nothing much. You can see the deforestation in the name of tea estate. Everywhere tea plantations are growing and trees are cut. See it from this place.  

Parambikkulam Giant Old Tree

This is one of the place you might want to see. I have not visited this place yet, but the Giant Teak tree is one of the things you dont want to miss. You can plan along with the other places as listed.
