During the visit to Pollachi and nearby places, we have seen multiple installations of Windmills. But in Pollachi visit, somehow we could not stop by to see them close. Near Pollachi, you can see the Windmills in ground level itself. But in Chitradurga, all these are on the hills. Next time if you visit any of the above places, stop by to see them close. While planning the visit to Chitradurga, my friend Mr. Manju told me that I can also see the Windmills. Yes, there are 100s of windmills around Chitradurga.
Earlier We have seen this TV show "Really BIG things with Matt Rogers" in discovery channel about the Windmills. So we were so curious to see them.
Yes they are so big in size, though it looks small from distance. I have seen the individual blades were carried by trucks near Dharmapuri(Tamilnadu) and on Bangalore Pune highway.
During my trip to Shivagange, I saw a truck with the windmill blade pulled over to the roadside. Went close and took some photos of it. See the size of just one blade of the Windmill, two of you can literally stand inside.
