Sakleshpur is just a 4.5 hour drive from Bangalore at 221 Kms distance. Perfect weekend getaway for a quick trek or to enjoy the refreshing nature. I am sure this blog will be a comprehensive guide for all the places in and around Sakleshpur. I have covered almost all the important 20+ places with beautiful photos of them. Read and share with friends and share your comments below.
It is better to visit right after the rains i.e. September to February. June/July/August are rainy months. March to May are summer months. Just turn any side to see the green hills covered with clouds. Don't feel sad if you could not visit Switzerland in lifetime, just visit Sakleshpur or Chikmagalur once and feel the wind, enjoy the fine shower, look around for the green pastures elsewhere, just trek on those grass-hills, listen to the wind, watch the clouds touch you and pass by... Words cannot justify, you need to visit to feel it.
A word of caution:
Please be aware that, sudden fog or passing clouds will reduce your visibility levels if incase you are trekking on hills. Make sure to go in groups and remember the path you go so that you can come back. Also remember you are in their territory and wild animals might be around. Ask locals first about the place and then start trek. Carry salt for leeches, water, snacks and a stick for your help and support while trekking. Please don't litter and it is our responsibility.
Most importantly - Some trekking spots need pass, so apply and book online before you visit. Visit https://karnatakaecotourism.com/ (or) https://myecotrip.com/
As usual, let me share some interesting photos of Sakleshpur
